The Bower Hill Twins Origin
Orphaned at young age, with no knowledge of their family name, Abigail and Gabriel lived their earliest years at the Aurora Orphanage in Argent’s Perch. Sold to the farmer Lester Cavendish at the age of 8, Abigail and Gabriel led their early lives working the land and tending to the animals. Rakis is a barren land and life is hard, many of the provinces divided between warlords and petty gangs. Farmer Cavendish had been extorted for protection by The Scarlet Fangs for all of his working days, as was his father before him.
With the years becoming more harsh and the droughts more frequent, Cavendish couldn't keep up with payments anymore for some time and The Scarlet Fangs came by one day to collect not the payment, but the life of Cavendish. He was hanged and all the animals killed that same day, even though he had the payment ready that was due. Abigail and Gabriel hid below the barn floor the entire night, covered in the animal's blood that dripped through the boards. Finding some hidden coins and an old, single pistol with ammo, they set out to follow the Scarlet Fangs to the city of Jericko.
Finding out where the gang is holding up is proving to be hard and any questions about the gang are met with resistance and hostility. Taking different kinds of jobs in the city, they end up at the Bower Hill tavern, where Abigail serves as a waitress and Gabriel becomes a bartender. During one of the many gambling sessions, they meet the handsome, young swindler by the name of Charles Moran and his scavenger younger brother Dean, who promises them a better job and a roof above their head and the eventual revealing of the Scarlet safehouse. He teaches them the art of the swindle, sweet talking victims into parting from their wealth as easy as taking sweets from a child. Abigail and Moran eventually form a bittersweet relationship and he gives her a stolen jeweled choker from a rich household robbery. Moran also taught Gabriel the benefits of poison, and has learned how to use scorpion venom to influence his victims.
The crimes become more frequent and more violent by the day, as the twins gain notoriety and the nickname "The Bower Hill Twins". They learn how to handle a variety of weaponry in the coming months and Moran becomes more and more known for being their overseer. This has caught the attention of "Fang", the leader of a notorious gang named the Scarlet Fangs, and is not pleased to say the least by Moran's operations.
Moran, fearing he and his brothers deaths, leads the twins towards the Scarlet safehouse. After scouting the area and realising how outnumbered they were, he knew there was not much chance of him getting out of the situation alive, and he did not want to run away and leave Abigail and her twin. Dean was ordered to stay out of the fight as he was only young. Knowing he wasn't the best with firearms, he decides to cause a ruckus and has most of the gang follow him into one of the smaller storage pens in the compound. He lets the twins close the large doors of the pen and sets hay bales alight, burning down the pen and everyone inside, including himself.
The twins engage in gunfights with the rest of the remaining gang, trying to escape or trying to open the pen doors and make their way to the inner works of the compound to meet and fight "Fang". Both of the twins are shot, but eventually they manage to disarm and defeat Fang, reminding him of the Cavendish hanging at the farmlands they grew up in and branding Fang with the Cavendish symbol for killing Lester Cavendish and all of the animals, before hanging him by the front gates of the compound for everyone to see. The Scarlet Fangs disband not long after that and Dean Moran is declared missing.
Taking the Cavendish name and an inescapable one after being branded criminals, they roam the lands to escape their past that left them unwelcome in their own land. Which leads them to Aeternia, where they will start a new life, settle and make their talents count.
