A call comes over the radio, a woman's voice, strangely cold. " Excuse me ladies and gents... I would like to ask you all to join me in taking down the puppeteers."
Survivors around the island gather weapons and beasts, grim determination on some faces, exhilaration on others. Gathering outside the house, they set out, following the slight form of the girl on a bear. She's told them that they may need grappling hooks or parachutes or birds, but many are on land mounts anyways.
After a long trek across the island, the survivors arrive on the northernmost island, a hellish place of fire and lava. She leads them to a cave filled with lava. The heat is almost unbearable. Here, the people on land mounts dismount, some returning to retrieve their own fliers. One they have regrouped, they fly in to scout the cave, looking for the base. They find it quickly, a metal monstrosity tucked away in a crevice.
The final assault on the puppeteers begins. The fight is bloody and some are wounded, but when the smoke clears and the last of the puppeteers lie dead, they regroup. Although they killed many, no one remembers killing the men known as the Boss and the Doctor. Those who have seen their faces confirm that they are not among the dead.
In one of the rooms, the one that looks like an office the survivors find a note stating that the Doctor and the Boss have gone to the blue obelisk. The survivors run for their mounts, determined to get there in time to catch the two that have caused so much pain.
Upon reaching the blue obelisk, they find the two men. After a moment of demanding the men answer for their crimes, the Doctor slams his fist down on the terminal, opening a portal. For a brief second, it fluctuates wildly, and then settles into an ominous blood-red light. A horde of beasts spring out of the portal, seeming dazed for just a moment before turning towards the two men. The Boss screams "It's too late!" Before the wave of teeth and fangs washes over him.
The horde then turns on the survivors, who fight furiously and manage to kill them before the portal pulses again, releasing another group of monsters. Wave after wave of death springs from the portal. Some of the survivors grin madly as they fight, unleashing a hailstorm of bullets and fire on the creatures. Others fall beneath the onslaught.
Finally, the waves seem to trickle down to an end, and monsters stop coming from within. As the survivors gather to tend their wounded, the portal flickers one last time as if to mock their pain. Two massive creatures come from the light, a glowing wyvern and worm. The survivors, their armor scratched and weakened, low on ammo and reinforcements nevertheless pick up their weapons and once more prepare for battle. The fight is a difficult one, but in the end, the beasts lie dead.
Surrounded by corpses, the survivors find the Boss crawling towards the obelisk. some immediately call for his death, but he promises he can close the portal and the others hold back their more bloodthirsty companions. Coughing blood and leaving a trail of gore behind him, he crawls slowly to the obelisk and manages to push the button with a bloodstained hand. The sensor recognizes his dna from the blood, and the portal flickers out. The survivors watch as the terminal flickers off, then turns back on. The display console has changed, the terminal now has an input for a date, place, and time.
They stand there stunned, then start demanding answers of the man. One man asks, "If you had the ability to do this the entire time, why didn't you?"
Gasping for breath, the Boss chokes out "I didn't have the power! I took it! That was what all this was for!"
A woman asks in a voice that cracks from emotion, "We're FREE?"
With a wry chuckle the Boss answers, "I don't know about you, but I am." with a final gasp, he goes limp, dead.
The rest of the survivors turn to stare at the terminal...
What lies on the other side of this portal?
That, dear player, is up to you.
The portal will take you wherever you wish to go, including back to the real world. Any place, any time. The only things you cannot do is go back in time to during the events of ArkRP or come back here after you leave. You may return to one of the islands, but it would be after whatever wipe event there was on the island. This is your chance to make a happy ending for your character if you wish, returning to those they left behind in the real world or even to travel with their friends to their time in the real world or to a previous island.
Thank you so much for being a part of this chapter in ArkRP and we hope to see you in Volume I!
Please let us know what your character decided to do bellow! Did they stay? Or did they decide to leave? (And where did they go?!)
